Maximum annual increase. In no event may the increase in Maximum Permissible Service Rates increase by more than five percent (5%) during any July 1st – June 30th period regardless of the amount increase in the CPI. If, however, the changes to the CPI result in an increase above five percent (5%) or a negative number, any amount above five percent (5%) or below zero percent (0%), shall be carried forward or applied in subsequent years.
Maximum annual increase. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, no licensed employee participating in the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and within four (4) years of eligibility of a non-discounted (pension discount of 1/2% per month as provide in Sections 5/16-132 (b) and 5/16-133 (a) B. of the Illinois Pension Code) annuity shall receive an annual raise exceeding six percent (6%) of the prior year’s salary. To the extent that the negotiated annual increase for any such TRS employee together with all other new compensation provided for elsewhere in this bargaining agreement would exceed a six percent (6%) annual raise, the teacher shall receive a 6% raise.
