Common use of Meal Periods and Free Meals Clause in Contracts

Meal Periods and Free Meals. No employee shall be scheduled to work more than five (5) consecutive hours without being allowed a meal period, except in cases of emergency. Any position which affords a one-half (1/2) hour meal period during which a free meal has previously been made available and during which the employee has previously been required to remain on the premises shall continue to have a free meal as a condition of employment in that position. No meal period shall be for less than one-half (1/2) hour.
