Mechanics Tools. The Board of Education recognizes that the district mechanics incur expenditures to maintain and purchase tools. It is agreed that a committee will be established with representation from the Transportation Department and the mechanics to determine the purchase of specialty tools on an annual basis. Specialty tools are defined as items that are: • Used on a limited basis. • Usually more costly than standard tools. The committee will recommend the number and type of tools to be purchased. Final approval of all purchases will be made by the Director of Transportation Services.
