Common use of Medical and Dental Appointments Clause in Contracts

Medical and Dental Appointments. (a) Where it is not possible to schedule medical and/or dental appointments outside regularly scheduled working hours, reasonable time off for medical and dental appointments for employees and for dependent children shall be permitted, but where any such absence exceeds one hour, the additional time off shall be charged to employees' sick leave credits. (b) Employees in areas where adequate medical and dental facilities are not available shall be allowed to deduct from their sick leave credits the necessary return travelling time to receive personal or immediate family medical and dental care at the nearest medical/dental centre. (c) OC may request a certificate of a qualified medical or dental practitioner, as the case may be, stating that treatment could not be provided by facilities or services available at the employee's place of residence.
