Medical Insurance Premiums. District shall pay employee medical insurance premiums up to a maximum amount not to exceed the District “Maximum Contribution” for each level (employee only, employee plus one dependent, and employee plus two or more dependents). Payment by District shall be for employee or employee plus eligible dependents, whichever represents the employee’s situation. The employee shall pay the balance of the cost incurred in excess of the medical insurance premium Maximum Contribution. For calendar year 2019, the Kaiser premium rates for 2019 will be compared to the District Maximum Contribution for 2018; if the Kaiser rate is higher than the 2018 District Maximum Contribution, then the new District Maximum Contribution will be calculated by adding 50% of the increase to the Kaiser 2018 premium rate to establish the Maximum Contribution for calendar year 2019.
