National Defense Authorization Act. An employee who is a spouse, child, parent or next of kin (nearest blood relative) to a member of the Armed Forces who is being treated for, recuperating from or is on the temporary disability retired list due to a serious injury or illness is entitled to a total of twenty-six (26) work weeks of leave during a twelve (12) month period to provide care for the service member as provided by the Family and Medical Leave Act as amended by the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2008.

National Defense Authorization Act. Under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the Government is prohibited from procuring covered defense telecommunications equipment or services. 64.1 “Covered defense telecommunications equipment or services” means: 64.1.1 Telecommunications equipment manufactured by ZTE Corporation or Huawei Technologies Company (or any subsidiary or affiliate of such entities); or 64.1.2 Telecommunications services provided by such entities or using such equipment; or 64.1.3 Telecommunications equipment or services produced or provided by an entity that the Secretary of Defense reasonably believes to be an entity owned or controlled by, or otherwise connected to the government of a covered foreign country.

Such-branded products are defined as any information security products, solutions, and services supplied, directly or indirectly, by said manufacturers, to include, video surveillance and telecommunications equipment produced by Hytera Communications Corporation, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company, or Dahua Technology Company (or any subsidiary or affiliate of such entities).
