Common use of Negotiation Leave Clause in Contracts

Negotiation Leave. A teacher acting as a representative of the Teachers’ Bargaining Committee in accordance with Subsection 234(1) of The Education Act, 1995 shall be granted leave and shall suffer no loss in salary or other benefits for time necessarily absent from the teacher’s teaching duties for purposes of participating in negotiations, mediation, conciliation or arbitration proceedings with government-trustee representatives, or for attendance required by a mediator, a conciliation board or an arbitration board without government-trustee representatives also in attendance. Provided that the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation shall, upon request, reimburse the employing board of education for the salary of such teacher.
