New Technology and Job Security. No employee shall be laid off or demoted as a consequence of the introduction of microelectronic technology (hardware or software); employees shall be required to participate in training on such technology as directed by the District to obtain or maintain an acceptable level of proficiency in the new technology. To the extent possible, affected employees shall be involved in the selection and implementation of technological changes.
