Function of Committee The Committee shall concern itself with the following general matters: a) Considering constructive criticisms of all activities so that better relations shall exist between the Employer and the employees. b) Improving and extending services to the public. c) Promoting safety and sanitary practices. d) Reviewing suggestions from employees, questions of working conditions and service (but not grievances). e) Correcting conditions which might cause grievances and misunderstandings.
Establishment of Committee The Province may, at its sole discretion, require the establishment of a committee to oversee the Agreement (the “Committee”).
Authority of Committee All determinations made by the Committee with respect to the interpretation, construction and application of any provision of this Agreement shall be final, conclusive and binding on the parties.
Composition of Committee A Union/Management Committee shall be established. The Employer and the Union shall each appoint two (2) representatives to the Union/Management Committee.
Decisions of Board or Committee The Board or the Committee shall have the right to resolve all questions which may arise in connection with the Award. Any interpretation, determination or other action made or taken by the Board or the Committee regarding the Plan or this Agreement shall be final, binding and conclusive.
Delegation; Committees The Trustees shall have the power, consistent with their continuing exclusive authority over the management of the Trust and the Trust Property, to delegate from time to time to such of their number or to officers, employees or agents of the Trust the doing of such things, including any matters set forth in this Declaration, and the execution of such instruments either in the name of the Trust or the names of the Trustees or otherwise as the Trustees may deem expedient. The Trustees may designate one or more committees which shall have all or such lesser portion of the authority of the entire Board of Trustees as the Trustees shall determine from time to time except to the extent action by the entire Board of Trustees or particular Trustees is required by the 0000 Xxx.
Jurisdiction of Committee The Committee shall not have jurisdiction over wages, or any matter of collective bargaining, including the administration of this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall not supersede the activities of any other committee of the Union or of the Employer and does not have the power to bind either the Union or its members or the Employer to any decisions or conclusions reached in their discussions. The Committee shall have the power to make recommendations to the Union and the Employer with respect to its discussions and conclusions.
Meeting of Committee In the event of either party wishing to call a meeting of the Committee, the meeting shall be held at a time and place fixed by mutual agreement, however, such meeting to be held not later than 14 days after request has been received unless varied by mutual agreement.
Committee The Hospital agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of representatives of the Union for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement. The number of nurses on the Negotiating Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The Hospital agrees to pay members of the Negotiating Committee for time spent during regular working hours in negotiations with the Hospital for a renewal agreement up to, but not including, arbitration. In central bargaining between the Ontario Nurses' Association and the Participating Hospitals, a nurse serving on the Union's Central Hospital Central Agreement -March Negotiating Team shall be paid for time lost from the nurse's regularly scheduled straight time working hours at her or his regular rate of pay, and without loss of leave credits, for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee up to, but not including, arbitration. Central Negotiating Team members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of preparation for negotiations. The Union will advise the Hospitals concerned, as far in advance as possible, of the dates for which leave is being requested. Upon reference to arbitration, the Central Negotiating Team members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. Time spent on such meetings will not be considered leave under Article Leave for Union Business. The maximum number of Central Negotiating Team members entitled to payment under this provision shall be ten (IO), and in no case will more than one (1) full-time nurse and one (1) part-time nurse from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Union shall advise the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee as far in advance as possible, of the names of the nurses to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee will make such request known to the affected hospitals. For any unpaid leave of absence under this provision, a full-time nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the full cost of such salary. For any unpaid leave of absence under this provision, a part-time nurse's salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits. Part-time nurses will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave.
Committee Meetings All meetings of the said Committee on Labour Relations with the Union Committee and the Secretary- Business Manager, or her/his representative, shall be under the chairpersonship of a member of the Committee on Labour Relations. Meetings shall be held at the call of the Chairperson as promptly as possible on request in writing of either party. The Employer and the Union shall make every effort to exchange written agendas at least one (1) week prior to meetings called under Article 8.04.
