NON-DISCRIMINATION/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. There shall be no discrimination in the application of the provisions of this Agreement. In recognition of such, the parties are committed to ensure these provisions are applied equally to all employees without regard to race, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, age or national origin and in a manner consistent with the stated Affirmative Action Policy of the District. The intent of this Section is to continue efforts to provide equal employment opportunity for all persons and to establish methods for the resolution of equal employment problems. Further, the intent is designed to meet the spirit and letter of the Federal Civil Rights Laws, Executive Orders and Amendments, and the State of California Fair Employment Practices Act. No employee shall suffer discrimination because of his/her membership in the Union or participation in Union activities.
