Common use of Non-Prescheduled Vacations Clause in Contracts

Non-Prescheduled Vacations. An employee requesting non-prescheduled vacation must submit his/her request to Management at least five (5) workdays prior to commencement of such leave except in cases of an emergency. This provision may be waived at the discretion of the appropriate supervisor or his/her designee. Employees may carry over up to two (2) weeks of vacation from the current calendar year to the next calendar year.

Non-Prescheduled Vacations. If a non-prescheduled vacation is submitted with less than seven (7) days’ notice and doesn’t cause overtime then the leave except in cases of an emergencymay be granted. If overtime is caused by the leave request and the employee finds a volunteer to work, then the leave may be granted. This provision may be waived at the discretion of the appropriate supervisor Chief or his/her designee. Employees may carry over up to two (2) weeks of vacation from the current calendar year to the next calendar year.

Emergency requests shall be granted so long as it does not unduly effect the department operation.
