PAID VACATIONS. 41.1 The Board shall grant paid vacation periods to each Member in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article. (a) The Board shall maintain a record of paid vacation entitlement for each Member based on the years, and parts thereof, of service from the most recent date of hire with the Board completed by August 31st prior to the vacation period to be taken. (b) For the purpose of this Article, the most recent date of hire shall be the date of last hire where there has been no termination of employment since that date. (c) A Member who was given credit for split service prior to the signing of this Agreement shall continue to retain such service for vacation entitlement. (a) Every Member shall be granted by the Board an annual paid vacation according to the following schedule: Years of Service Prior Entitlement to September 1st less than 1 year 3 weeks pro rated to time worked 1 year 3 weeks 8 years 4 weeks 17 years 5 weeks 24 years 6 weeks (b) The pay for any vacation period shall be calculated on the Member's annual salary as provided in Schedule A. (a) Vacations will normally be taken during the months of July and August but alternate scheduling may be permitted with the approval of the Member’s immediate Supervisor. Such requests for alternate scheduling shall not unreasonably be withheld. (b) The Member shall inform the Board about the Member’s request for paid vacation by completing the vacation schedule form provided by the Board. (c) If more than one (1) Member in a work location or department requests the same vacation time off, then, the most senior Member shall be granted the first choice the initial year after ratification of this Agreement. Thereafter, vacation time shall be on a rotation basis beginning with the next most senior Member having first choice. (d) The choice of vacation time by seniority referred to in clause 41.4 (b) is to be implemented only when a problem may occur in a department whereby two or more Members have chosen the same vacation period and it is necessary that one of those Members must be available to maintain the efficient operation of the department. (e) There will be a minimum of two (2) Members in a Composite Secondary School Office at all times. 41.5 (a) A ten (10) or twelve (12) month Member working in elementary schools shall take their vacation during regular scheduled breaks. This provision will also apply to ten (10) month Members working in Instructional Services and Media Services.

PAID VACATIONS. The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacations of six (6) weeks in each year of the Initial Term and any extension of the Initial Term, at such times and for such periods as may be mutually acceptable to the Company and the Employee, in accordance with the Company's policies governing vacations for executive officers of the Company. Unused vacation in any given year shall not accumulate from year to year and Employee shall not be entitled to any cash payment for or payment in lieu of unused vacation time.
PAID VACATIONS. 16.01 For the purpose of calculating vacation entitlement, an employee's service date shall be his or her start date with the company or as required by the Employment Standards Act. 16.02 An employee in the active employ of the Company shall be entitled to an annual paid vacation on the following basis: (a) Employees having less than one (1) year of service shall receive vacation pay only, in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. (b) An employee with more than twelve (12) months continuous service with the Company shall be entitled to two (2) weeks vacation at four percent (4%) of his gross earnings. (c) An employee with five (5) years or more of continuous service with the Company shall be entitled to three (3) weeks vacation at six percent (6%) of his gross earnings. (d) An employee with ten (10) years or more of continuous service with the Company shall be entitled to four (4) weeks at eight percent (8%) of his gross earnings. (e) An employee with twenty (20) years or more of continuous service with the Company shall be entitled to five (5) weeks vacation at ten percent (10%) of his gross earnings. 16.03 For the purposes of determining increased vacation entitlement, the appropriate date shall be the Officers' anniversary date of each year. 16.04 An employee who leaves the service of the Company shall be given the vacation pay to which he was entitled at the time he left the service of the Company. 16.05 Vacation time is not cumulative and must be taken by the conclusion of the vacation year. 16.06 Requests for vacation time shall be made in writing to the Company's Operations Office at least thirty (30) days in advance of the start of the vacation. The Company will provide written confirmation of all vacation requests within one (1) week of receiving the original vacation request. Vacation pay shall be paid on the pay day immediately preceding the start of the employee's vacation. 16.07 Fifteen percent (15%) of employees per classification per site will be allowed to take vacation at one time provided staffing on site is fifteen (15) Officers or less. If staffing exceeds fifteen (15) Officers, the percentage will be ten (10%) percent per site per shift. 16.08 Vacation pay will be paid upon written request of any employee, one time for each week of entitlement.
PAID VACATIONS. Section 33.1 Only regular employees who work eleven (11) full months or more during their anniversary year of employment (month and day of hire to month and day of hire in the following calendar year) shall receive paid vacations. If an employee who worked less than eleven (11) full months during past anniversary years of employment becomes an employee who works eleven (11) full months or more during an anniversary year of employment, the employee shall be credited with one (1) anniversary year of employment for each full twelve (12) months of past work in determining the amount of vacation with pay the employee is to receive under this Article. Employees who have worked for eleven months but less than five years shall receive ten days of paid vacation. Employees with five years but less than ten years work experience shall have fifteen days of paid vacation. Employees with ten years but less than fifteen years shall have twenty days of paid vacation. Employees with fifteen years or more shall have Section 33.2 Vacation days are earned on a yearly employment basis from month and day of anniversary date of hire in any year to month and day of anniversary date of hire in the following year and, except that probationary employees may not take any unearned vacation days during their first full year of employment. They may only use the days they have actually accrued. Section 33.3 Vacations must be taken at a time approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor and the Board or its designee. Advance approval shall normally consist of at least five (5) calendar days. The five (5) calendar day advance approval limitation may be reduced to three calendar days under extenuating circumstances. Advance approval of vacation days may be waived where emergency conditions make advance approval impossible. Vacation days must be taken in full day or one-half (1/2) day segments only.

PAID VACATIONS. Vacation leave shall accrue from the date the unit member first renders probationary service, if prior to the 15th day of the month. If probationary service is first rendered after the 15th day of the month, such service shall be deemed to have commenced the first day of the following month. Full credit for vacations, sick leave, holiday benefits, and salary increments will be given for the first calendar month of employment if the beginning date of employment allows fifteen (15) days of employment in that month.
PAID VACATIONS. Every member shall be entitled to four per cent (4%) vacation pay of salary/wages earned. Such vacation pay will be paid on each pay cheque.
