Occupational First Aid Requirements. a) The unionUnion and the eEmployer agree that first aid regulations made pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act shall be fully complied with. Where the eEmployer requires an employee to obtain or renew the employee's survival or occupational first aid certificate, the cost shall be borne by the eEmployer. Employees in designated positions and employees who request to be designated and are approved will be granted time off with pay during normal working hours to renew their certificate. If the course or examinations are held on a day the employee does not normally work, they will receive time off in lieu, such time to be taken subject to operational requirements as approved by their supervisor, for the time spent at courses and writing examinations.
