OF ABSENCE. Employees requesting time off for the purpose of attending Labour Conventions or other Union business not connected with this Agreement, shall be granted such time off without pay subject to the following conditions: number of Employees not to exceed seven (7) for each period of leave. and maximum days not to exceed twenty (20) days in any calendar year, and the number of Employees from any one department or sub- department in the case of large departments shall be limited to one save and except that the Employer shall give consideration to a request by the Union that more than one (1) Employee from a department or sub-department, in the case of large departments, be permitted leave of absence. where so designated by an Employee on authorized leave of absence for Union business, the Employer shall continue normal salary wage payments.
