Offenses Requiring Police Notification. The police department shall be called immediately in the event a criminal act is committed on school property. Examples of offenses which require principals to notify police: extortion of money or articles, possession of narcotics, arson or attempted arson (notify fire Department), use or possession of alcoholic beverages, serious theft, serious vandalism, false reports of fire and bombs, possession of knife or other weapons, possession and/or sale of fireworks. Upon inquiry, the principal will inform the teacher of the status of the open case. The principal and the teacher will cooperate in the prosecution of the case upon request.
