Common use of OTHER UNION CONTROVERSY Clause in Contracts

OTHER UNION CONTROVERSY. (a) The Union agrees that in the event the Company becomes involved in a controversy with any other Union, the Union will do all in its power to help effect a fair settlement, and the Union will not participate in any sympathetic cessation of work or slow-down program while the controversy is being settled. (b) It shall not be a violation of this Agreement, or cause for discharge of any employee in the performance of his duties to refuse to cross a legal picket line recognized by the Union. The Union shall notify the Company as soon as possible of the existence of such recognized legal picket line. (c) During the life of this Agreement, there shall be no lock-out by the Company, or any strike, sit-down, slow-down, or work stoppage or suspension of work either complete or partial for any reason by the Union. (d) If a dispute arises as the result of the employees of the Company handling or transporting any commodities for a Company or business that is being legally picketed by a Local Union of the Teamsters, the Company and the Union shall immediately meet, with the objective of arriving at a mutually satisfactory solution.
