Common use of Overtime - An Clause in Contracts

Overtime - An. employer may require any employee to work reasonable overtime at overtime rates and the employee shall work overtime as required. Employees can work a maximum of 8 hours overtime per week. Additional hours may be worked where agreement is reached between the parties, and, where applicable, Consultative Committee. The assignment of overtime by an employer to an employee is to be based on specific work requirements and the practice of “one in, all in” overtime shall not apply. Overtime will be paid at double time for all over time hours worked. Discussions will occur from time to time with the workforce, in respect to the level of overtime required, having regard to both company workloads and general industry conditions.
