Overuse of Sick Leave. A unit member must reimburse the District for any 5 terminates his/her employment with the District, he/she must reimburse the District for 6 any overuse of unearned sick leave. A deduction will be made from the unit member’s 7 last pay warrant. If such deduction does not cover the amount due to the District, then 8 the unit member will be required to pay any owed amount.

Such leave may be taken for part of a single day.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Utilization of Sick Leave Employees who have accrued paid leave time shall be eligible for paid leave for any period of absence from employment which includes but is not limited to the employee’s illness; injury; temporary disability; medical or dental care; or to attend to members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family or domestic partner or domestic partner’s immediate family, where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or as otherwise required by the state or federal Family Medical Leave Act or other State law. The Employer may, in its sole discretion, require reasonable proof of illness or disability and/or certification of the necessity of the employee’s absence.

  • Donation of Sick Leave a. If a part-time bargaining unit member is absent due to a major illness, injury or accident, or absent and using Sick Leave in accordance with Article 20, and the member has exhausted all of his/her accumulated Sick Leave, the member may receive up to five (5) days of accumulated Sick Leave from any Part-Time Certified or Part-Time Classified bargaining unit member who wishes to donate these days. Members receiving donated days will be paid at their regular rate of pay.
