PAY FOR SICK LEAVE UPON RETIREMENT. 1. Secretaries and Paraprofessionals who retire from the system shall be paid a terminal payment which shall be computed by multiplying sixty percent (60%) of the number of unused sick days accumulated to the employee’s credit by the pay rate at Step One on the employee salary guide in effect at the time of retirement. In order to qualify for the benefit, the employee must have at the time of retirement at least fifty (50) unused sick days to his credit.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
