Common use of Payment for Accumulated Sick Leave at Retirement Clause in Contracts

Payment for Accumulated Sick Leave at Retirement. At retirement, a firefighter’s sick leave balance shall be computed on a forty (40) hour workweek basis and he shall receive a lump sum payment for one-third (1/3) of all accumulated sick leave in excess of four-hundred (400) hours to the maximum of 2,080 hours. This provision does not apply to service separation other than retirement.
