Holiday Time Off. When a holiday falls on an employee's day off, the employee shall receive an additional day off, or proportionate time off (based on the percentage time of appointment), as agreed upon between the employee and the supervisor.

Holiday Time Off. All Command Officers in the department will normally be scheduled to work holidays when a part of their normal shift schedules. Up to two holidays per year for each Command Officer may be traded by the officer for two days off with regular pay to be scheduled by the Chief as available and taking the officer's desired dates into consideration. An officer may elect to work any day which has been scheduled as a traded day off if at least one week's written notice is given to the supervisor and the office of the Chief.
Holiday Time Off. When a holiday occurring on a work day falls on an employee's regularly scheduled day off, they shall receive an alternate day off or shall receive cash compensation for the holiday at the straight time hourly rate at the option of the employee. Either option is based on the employee’s percentage time of appointment. The alternate day off shall be at a time selected by the employee with the approval of the supervisor, which shall not be unreasonably denied. If, however, it is necessary to limit the number of employees who take the alternate day at the same time within a work location, the choice of the alternate day shall be awarded on the basis of classification seniority within the work location.
Holiday Time Off. For each holiday observed on a member's workday, said member shall work that holiday unless the member requests and is granted the day off by the Chief of Police through the use of paid leave.
Holiday Time Off. For each actual holiday observed on a member's workday, said member may be excused from work on such day at the discretion of the Sheriff or his designee. A member may elect to take a workday off within the biweekly pay period in which his day celebrated as a holiday falls in lieu of receiving holiday pay, except if he was excused from work on the actual holiday, subject to approval of the Sheriff or his Designee. If a holiday occurs while a member is on approved paid leave, such day shall not be charged against such leave, but shall be considered holiday time off. When a member is scheduled to work the holiday and submits a compensatory time request for the holiday off and that request is approved, the member then gets the holiday off. The member is entitled to eight hours of holiday pay and no deduction shall occur from the member’s compensatory time. Per established practice, approval of the compensatory time request is conditioned upon the timely submittal of the leave request and another member signing up to work the hours in place of the member requesting the compensatory time off.
Holiday Time Off. Holiday prime time is three days prior to, and the three days after the following holidays: Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Seniority shall prevail with regard to holiday prime time for nurses on the same holiday rotation.
Holiday Time Off. When a holiday falls on the first day of an employee's regularly scheduled days off, it shall be celebrated on the previous day; and when a holiday falls on the second day of an employee's regularly scheduled days off, it shall be celebrated on the following day. If the four (4) ten-hour day work week necessitates more than a two-day weekend, a holiday which falls on either of the first two days shall be celebrated on the last previous work day; and a holiday which falls on any other day of such days off shall be celebrated on the next subsequent work day. Part-time employees shall not be compensated for holidays; however, they shall be paid for work performed on a holiday at the rate set forth in this Article. For each holiday observed on an employee's work day, said employee will be excused from work on such day, if feasible. If one of the listed holidays occurs while an employee is on vacation leave, such day shall not be charged against vacation leave.

Holiday Time Off. All employees shall have every recognized holiday, the actual holiday of Christmas Day (December 25th), the actual holiday of New Year’s Day (January 1st), and July 4, 2020 off and not be required to work, subject to the following exceptions: (a) Employees in classifications which are regularly scheduled to provide 24/7 shift coverage (b) Building/Grounds Maintenance Workers on July 4th of each year (c) Bus Drivers on Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xx. Xxx, President’s Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, the day following Christmas, and New Year’s Eve (d) Employees in paid Stand-By Duty status and therefore subject to Call Back (e) Employees regularly scheduled to work July 4, 2020, Christmas Day (December 25th), or New Year’s Day (January 1st) when the actual holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday shall be allowed time off for the actual holiday(s), but must use available hours from their vacation, holiday, and/or compensatory time bank accruals to cover the absence(s) (f) Mutual agreement otherwise by the employee, absent coercion and/or threat of reprisal (g) Declared State of Emergency or other public safety/exigent circumstances
Holiday Time Off. Benefitted employees shall receive eight (8) hours’ holiday benefit pay in lieu of working for each holiday listed in Article 11.1 – Holidays, pro-rated to their FTE. Employees who are on a 4/10 schedule shall have the following options: 1) use two (2) hours of vacation leave or compensatory time to make a full ten (10) hour day; 2) work an additional two (2) hours at the straight-time rate during the work week to make up for the two (2) hours off on the holiday prior to any overtime hours; or 3) take two (2) hours of leave without pay for a total of 38 hours of pay for the work week.
