Common use of Payment for Work Done on Public Holidays Clause in Contracts

Payment for Work Done on Public Holidays. (a) All work done by an employee during their ordinary shifts on a public holiday, including a substituted day, will be paid at 250% of their ordinary rate of pay. Alternatively, if the employee elects, the employee will be paid half-time extra (50%) for all time worked in addition to the weekly rate and have one ordinary working day added to the period of annual leave. This additional annual leave shall not attract the annual leave loading prescribed at Clause 40.6. (b) The election in Clause 42.2(a) will be made on the commencement of employment and then on the anniversary date each year.
