Common use of Payment of Unused Sick Leave Benefits Clause in Contracts

Payment of Unused Sick Leave Benefits. An employee who separates from University employment for retirement purposes [at least fifty (50) years of age and ten (10) years of regular full-time service at EMU as of their date of separation], shall be paid fifty percent (50%) of their unused Sick Leave, if any, as provided in Article XXI, Leaves of Absence, F (1), Sick Leave, as of the effective date of separation. Such payments are to be made at the employee’s rate of pay at the date of separation.
