Payments to your account. (a) You must allow sufficient time for your chosen payment method to reach your account by the payment due date. Payments will only take effect when the funds have cleared. Details of payment methods and timings can be found on the back of your statement. (b) You must not intentionally make payments that place your account in credit. (c) Refunds and cash reward payments will not count towards your minimum payment unless they reduce your balance to less than the minimum payment we have asked for. If this happens, you will only have to pay the remaining balance, if any. (d) We allocate payments to balances which show on your current statement in a high to low interest rate order, then, to balances in a high to low interest rate order which do not yet appear on your statement. (e) We will remove any funds that have been paid to your account in error and to which you are not entitled. (f) You must stay within your credit limit and any amount which takes you over this, as well as any arrears shown on your statement, must be repaid in full immediately.

Details of An Post Offices which accept cheque lodgements are available on request and through our website. Any cheque lodged through a Post Office must be lodged in accordance with the applicable process prescribed by us at the time, details of which are available on request or on our website. Any cheque lodged through a Post Office will not be deemed to be lodged to an Account until received by us, which should be the next Business Day after the cheque has been lodged through a Post Office subject to the cheque being lodged before the latest time of posting at the Post Office concerned. Cheques lodged through Post Offices on a non-Business day will be received by us 2 Business Days after presentation at a Post Office. Once received by us the cheques will be processed in the normal way as set out below
Payments to your account will not reduce a balance until the payment is cleared. Your monthly statement includes information about clearance periods.

We may also require further details to confirm your right to the cheque before accepting it for credit to your Account and may decline to accept it. If, for example, the cheque is crossed Account Payee or Not Negotiable we may refuse to credit it to any account except that of thepayee; (iii) We may request that cheques drawn on a bank outside of Ireland are sent for collection of their value before crediting them to your account; (iv) If you enter on the lodgement slip the incorrect total of the items being paid into your Account, we will correct the error and credit the revised amount to your Account. We will advise you of the change; (v) If you lodge a cheque drawn on us for the credit of your Account it will be credited to your Account and appear on your statement on the day of receipt by us. For interest calculation purposes value will be given to you on the day of receipt by us, but you will not be permitted to draw the amount of the cheque until after the first Business Day after the day of receipt by us; (vi) If you lodge a cheque drawn on any other bank in Ireland for the credit of your Account, it will be credited to your Account and appear on your statement on the day of receipt by us.   • USING YOUR ACCOUNT If you are approved for an account, the Credit Union will establish a line of credit for you. You agree that your credit limit is the maximum amount (purchases, cash advances, finance charges, plus "other charges") which you will have outstanding on your account at any time. Unless disclosed otherwise, the Credit Union will not allow advances over the credit limit. If the Credit Union has a program whereby it allows payment of advances that exceed your credit limit, subject to a fee, the Credit Union will provide you with notice, either orally, in writing, or electronically (notwithstanding the requirements of the paragraph entitled “Statements and Notices”) explaining your right to opt in to the Credit Union’s program whereby it will honor advance requests over the credit limit. In the event you opt in to such a program, you agree to the terms of such a program. You may request an increase in your credit limit only by a method acceptable to the Credit Union. The Credit Union may increase or decrease your credit limit, refuse to make an advance and/or terminate your account at any time for any reason not prohibited by law. If you are permitted to obtain cash advances on your account, we may, from time to time, issue convenience checks to you that may be drawn on your account. Convenience checks may not be used to make a payment on your account balance. If you use a convenience check, it will be posted to your account as a cash advance. We reserve the right to refuse to pay a convenience check drawn on your account for any reason and such refusal shall not constitute wrongful dishonor.

  • Closing Your Account Unless an agreement relating to a particular product or service says otherwise, you can close your Account at any time provided that you first settle any debit balance owing.
