Period of Office. The normal term of office will be three (3) years. This allows for continuity in terms of committee composition, allowing for relationships and expertise to develop over time. However after the initial Staff Representatives have been elected, there will subsequently be a phased election process so that all Staff Representatives do not stand down or stand for re-election simultaneously. Potential loss of all Staff Representatives at the same time would cause discontinuity as well as loss of experience.
