Stand Down. Can the Company “Stand Down” an employee? a) Notwithstanding any other provision elsewhere contained in this agreement the Company shall have the right to deduct payment for any day or part of the day an employee cannot be usefully employed because of any strike, breakdown in machinery or any stoppage of work for which the Company cannot reasonably be held responsible; eg a natural disaster. b) The Company by mutual agreement with an individual employee or a group of employees may reduce the number of ordinary hours and days worked per week for the employee(s) to keep the workforce employed during periods of downturn. During any period of reduced ordinary hours and days employees shall be paid for actual time worked only. c) During periods of downturn the Company shall have the right to consult with the employee(s) with a view to the taking of leave entitlements or unpaid leave by mutual agreement. The taking of such leave shall be in accordance with the provisions contained in Clause 4.6
