Preceptor Differential. Nurses who act in the capacity of a preceptor at the request of 8 the Hospital will be paid a differential of one dollar ($1.00) per hour for all hours 9 worked. To be eligible to act as a preceptor and receive the differential described 10 herein, the nurse must comply with the criteria of the Hospital Preceptor Guidelines.
Preceptor Differential. The Hospital shall pay a differential of $1.50 per hour to a nurse who is designated by nursing management to serve as a preceptor to provide on-the-job training to newly hired nurses. One differential will be paid per shift per orientee to the primary preceptor for all hours served as the primary preceptor for that shift. Preceptor will only be paid while the newly hired nurse is in a one-to-one status. Preceptor is a voluntary assignment and the nurse has the option to refuse the preceptor assignment.
Preceptor Differential. A nurse assigned as a preceptor will be paid a differential of $1.601.50 per hour worked as a preceptor. This differential will not be paid for any unworked hours or for any hours when the nurse is not working as a preceptor.
Preceptor Differential. 30 The Hospital will pay a differential of $1.00 per hour for time spent by an eligible 31 nurse precepting new graduate nurses, newly-hired nurses or nurses transferring 1 to a different nursing unit requiring orientation. In order to be eligible for the 2 preceptor differential, the precepting nurse will be responsible for planning, 3 implementing, documenting and evaluating with the appropriate nursing director 4 the new nurse’s performance during the preceptorship. In order to be eligible for 5 the preceptor premium, the assigned nurse will have satisfactorily completed the 6 preceptor competency training provided by the Hospital, once the program is 7 developed.
Preceptor Differential. A nurse who is assigned preceptor responsibilities shall receive a differential of two dollars ($2.00) per hour for any shift where they serve as a preceptor for nurses employed by the Medical Center. Preceptor differential shall be in addition to other applicable differentials or premiums, if any.

A nurse who is assigned by the Hospital to act as preceptor to a student nurse, a new graduate nurse, or a nurse who is new to the Hospital (which also includes travelers), or to a nurse who is new to a service (e.g., transfer to CCU with no previous experience, Flex Team nurse orienting to a unit), shall receive an additional $1.50 per hour for all hours spent precepting.

Preceptors shall be expected to complete the Division of Nursing Preceptor Education Programs, if such a program is available. A preceptor shall be defined as a nurse who has been assigned by the Employer to act as a preceptor to new RN hires, RNs participating in Transition to Practice program or student nurses. Charge nurses who meet the foregoing conditions shall similarly be eligible for preceptor pay.
