Certification Differential. A nurse may apply for and will receive a two 12 dollar ($2.00) per hour certification differential, a second certification shall 13 be compensated at fifty cents ($0.50) per hour, if the nurse has a current 14 national specialty certification listed on Appendix A that is relevant to 15 department where the nurse works the majority of their hours. The 16 differential will commence the first day of the pay period following the date 17 that written evidence of the passing test score or continuing certification is 18 received by SLCH HR. This differential will be automatically discontinued 19 if certification lapses.
Certification Differential. Nurses who obtain and maintain a nationally 17 recognized certification that is applicable to the services they provide for the 18 Employer shall receive $1.00 per hour. No additional differential is allotted for 19 more than one (1) certification. Proof of certification must be provided to the 20 Employer upon request. The approved certification list established by mutual 21 consent between the Association and the Director of Human Resources is as 22 follows:

Certification Differential. Upon notification to the manager, nurses who have 3 obtained the AAACN Certification or the NCC Telephone Nursing Practice 4 Certification shall receive a $2.00 per hour certification differential.
Certification Differential. 14.1.1 A nurse who obtains and maintains a nationally recognized nursing certification listed in the Medical Center’s nursing policy on certifications will be paid a differential of $1.25 per compensated hour. Additional certifications may be recognized by the Medical Center, and recommended by PNCC.
14.1.2 The nurse must have a current nationally recognized certification on file with Human Resources. Initial eligibility for the certification differential will begin on the first full pay period following submission to Human Resources. Eligibility for the certification differential will cease beginning with the first full pay period following the expiration date of the certification, unless the nurse submits proof to Human Resources of certification renewal before that date. If the proof is submitted to Human Resources within sixty days after that date, the certification differential will be paid from the renewal date. If the proof is submitted Human Resources more than sixty days after the renewal date, the certification differential will be resumed beginning with the first full pay period following the submission.
Certification Differential. Bargaining Unit Members may apply for a two percent differential for pre-approved certifications related to the member’s job duties and of benefit to the District. The certificate must be issued by a governmental unit, academic institution, or equivalent entity following a formal education program. Such qualifying training/education must be taken outside regular working hours and at the employee’s expense. Normally the pre-approval for the differential must occur in the fiscal year immediately preceding actual payment for the differential. Such payments shall commence at the beginning of the month immediately following receipt of the certificate. Payment will only be made for as long as the certificate is current and of benefit to the District. When application is made for pre-approval it shall be acted upon by a committee of two representatives from the district and two from the Union. If the committee deadlocks, the deciding vote shall be made by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. The written decision of the committee shall be provided to the applying Bargaining Unit Member within 15 days of the committee’s decision. Generally, a Bargaining Unit Member will not be pre approved for more that one qualifying certification under this provision.
Certification Differential. 5 1. A nurse may apply for and will receive a three (3) percent per hour 6 certification differential as of the application date, if the nurse has a current 7 state or national specialty certification recognized in Appendix A on file 8 with the Hospital. The differential will commence the first day of the pay 9 period following the date that written evidence of the passing test score or 10 continuing certification is received by SAGH HR.
12 2. Eligibility for the certification differential will cease beginning with the first 13 full pay period following the expiration of the certification, unless the nurse 14 submits proof to SAGH HR of certification renewal prior to that date.
1 3. Only one (1) certification and one (1) certification differential will be 2 recognized at a time for the purposes of this section.
Certification Differential. In order to encourage employees to voluntarily acquire additional training and the associated skills, the Company will increase the hourly pay, by the below described differential, of those technicians who achieve the following certification(s): (a) for company-provided training, pass the certification examination within (60) calendar days of completion of training; or (b) for employee attained training, pass the certification examination; but (c) in both cases, maintain certification(s) via requisite ongoing recertification:
(a) Comp TIA A+ $0.25 per hour increase
(b) Comp TIA Network + $0.25 per hour increase
(c) Certified Wireless Technology Specialist $0.25 per hour increase
(d) Comp TIA Security + $0.25 per hour increase
(e) Cloud Essentials $0.25 per hour increase
(f) Comp TIA Mobility + $0.25 per hour increase All six (6) active certifications above (and ongoing maintenance/recertification of all): $2.00 per hour differential (g) CCNA $0.50 per hour increase Employees do not pay for the course itself when the coursework instruction is provided by the Company. In such cases, employees may use their Pro-Card, or alternately, seek reimbursement, for the cost of a book and examination to acquire and maintain certification or recertification(s). However, if an employee is unsuccessful on any initial certification or recertification examination, the employee shall cover the costs of any subsequent examination until a passing grade is achieved, or the employee ceases to pursue the certification. Once a passing grade has been achieved, the Company shall reimburse the employee only for the cost of the book and the examination associated with the single passing examination. Time spent by an employee in employee-attained training or in preparation for such shall be on the employee’s time, and not compensable. Any courses to achieve certifications above not provided for by the Company may be reimbursed exclusively via the Company’s Tuition Reimbursement Policy.
Certification Differential. A nurse who meets the requirements of this section shall receive a $2.25 per hour certification differential.
1. The nurse must have a current nationally recognized certification on file with Human Resources for the area where the nurse works a significant number of hours. Initial eligibility for the certification differential will begin on the first full pay period following submission of proof of certification with expiration date to Human Resources. Eligibility for the certification differential will cease beginning with the first full pay period following the expiration date of the certification, unless the nurse submits proof to the Medical Center of certification renewal before that date. If the proof is submitted to the Medical Center after that date, the certification differential will be resumed beginning with the first full pay period following the submission.
2. A nurse will be deemed to have worked a significant number of hours in the area if at least one-half of the nurse’s hours worked are in that area. The Medical Center may, in its discretion, determine that some lower proportion of hours worked in an area qualifies as a significant number of hours worked for the purposes of this section.
3. Only one certification and one certification differential will be recognized at a time for the purposes of this section.
4. Certification Differential. Nurses who attain certification and who are working in their area of certification shall receive a differential of one dollar and ten cents ($1.10) for all compensated hours. For purposes of this paragraph, certification is defined as the achievement of a passing score in an examination for certification established by a national nursing organization in that specialty. Nurses holding an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner designation shall be treated as nurses qualifying for certification pay under this paragraph. There shall be recognition for no more than one certification of an individual nurse at any given time. To qualify for continuing eligibility for the certification premium under this paragraph, the nurse shall be required to provide proof of continuing certification within thirty (30) days of expiration of the nurse’s prior certification.
Certification Differential. Nurses who obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification shall receive an additional $32.00 per hour on all hours worked. Except for the bilingual skills certification differential, no additional differential is allotted for more than one (1) certification. It is the nurse’s responsibility to provide documentation of certification to the Hospital. An approved certification list shall be established by mutual consent between the PNCC and the CNO or designee and shall be updated on an annual basis.
