Pregnant Staff Member. A pregnant staff member, upon their request, will not be required to undertake work which they believe is hazardous to their pregnancy. Alternate work will be offered by the University, if available. Staff members for whom an alternate position is found will be paid at the rate of salary of the alternate position. If alternate work is not available, the staff member may decide to continue in their position or to take a leave of absence without salary for the time remaining to the commencement of the maternity leave.
