Premium Compensation. Designated bilingual employees shall be paid a premium compensation in the amount of $125 per month for bilingual pay. Bilingual pay will be payable at the full monthly rate in any month a designated bilingual employee is on paid status at least half of the month. If a designated bilingual employee is on unpaid status or has been placed on paid administrative leave for more than half of the month, the bilingual pay will be reduced by half. No bilingual pay will be paid in a month if an employee is on LWOP or paid administrative leave for the entire month. Designated bilingual employees hired or assigned bilingual pay within the first 15 days of the month shall receive the full monthly rate for their first month of employment; those hired or assigned bilingual pay after the 15th of the month will receive half of the bilingual pay for their first month of employment. Designated bilingual employees leaving County service during the first 15 days of the month will receive half of the bilingual pay for that month; those leaving service any time after the 15th of the month will be paid the full monthly rate.
