Education Incentive Program. The Educational Incentive for all employees represented by this Association is included in the base salary.
Education Incentive Program. The education incentive program and pay plan for the Madison Fire Department shall be considered as part of this Agreement as though more fully set forth. Such education incentive program is negotiable and subject to the grievance procedure contained in Article 9. Furthermore, the Fire Education Incentive Program shall be amended to provide that an apprentice shall not be eligible to receive Education Incentive pay until he/she is qualified to be issued a Certificate of Apprenticeship and a Journey person Firefighter Certificate and has completed forty-two (42) months of employment. Should the parties agree to changes in the Education Incentive Program, such agreement must be approved by bargaining unit ratification and City Council resolution and adoption.

Education Incentive Program. 40 The District will fund an educational incentive program for employees who complete courses of study 41 within their job classification that are considered advantageous to the District, as determined mutually 42 by the District and the Union.
Education Incentive ProgramEmployees will be compensated for earning educational credits or clock hours in accordance with the schedule below: Step One: Six (6) college quarter credits or sixty (60) clock hours – twenty- five cents ($0.25) per hour above scale.
Education Incentive Program. A. Covered employees who wish to enroll in job-related or promotion-oriented courses shall be reimbursed by COUNTY for allowable expenses related to the courses (which includes courses for certifications, licensures, CEU’s, and online courses) in an amount not to exceed seven hundred dollars ($700.00) per calendar year. Allowable expenses shall be actually incurred, shall include tuition costs and out-of-pocket expenses for required course material and textbooks, and shall be subject to the following: (1) Courses must be taken through an accredited institution if comparable courses are not offered in local schools. (2) Employees will not be granted time off from their regular work schedule to attend such courses, unless approved by the County Administrative Officer. (3) Approval for the educational assistance program shall be at the discretion of the County Administrative Officer, who will determine whether or not each specific course is job-related or promotion- oriented. The County Administrative Officer will obtain and consider the recommendation of the employee’s department head in each case. The County Administrative Officer’s approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. Such approval shall be obtained by the employee prior to enrollment. A copy of the written approval shall be sent by the County Administrative Officer to the Auditor’s Office, the employee’s Department Head, and the employee. (4) Required course material and textbooks may be retained by the employee upon satisfactory completion of the course. B. Reimbursement shall be made to the employee within fifteen (15) calendar days after presentation to the Auditor’s Office of appropriate receipts and proof of completion of the course with a minimum grade of “C” or it’s equivalent, or actual attaining of a certification, licensure, or CEU.
Education Incentive ProgramEvery employee who has an Associate of Arts or Science Degree (AA/AS) from an accredited school or college upon employment, or who achieves an AA or AS Degree from an accredited school or college during employment, shall receive three percent (3%) additional pay added to their base salary. Every employee who has a Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) Degree from an accredited school or college upon employment, or who achieves a BA or BS degree from an accredited school or college during employment, shall receive in addition to the three percent (3%) pay, two hundred Dollars ($200) added to their monthly base salary. Employees must present a copy of their Degree(s) to Human Resources in order to qualify for this benefit.
Education Incentive Program. A. Employees who possess an associate’s degree shall receive an annual stipend of $700, payable on or about December 1 of each year. B. Employees who possess a bachelor’s degree shall receive an annual stipend of $1,000, payable on or about December 1 of each year. C. Payments shall not be considered overtime rates and shall not be pensionable. D. Transcripts will be required for eligibility in this program. E. This program is limited to one degree only. F. Employees must be full-time police officers with the Department for three (3) years to be eligible.

Bargaining unit employees who enroll in and complete an-approved training program directly related to their current job classification, those employees who have previously completed an approved training program directly related to their current job classification, and employees who have completed state/federal education requirements shall receive additional compensation in the amount of: Completion of 27-39 college credits; or 270-399 clock hours = 15¢ per hour Completion of 40-89 college credits or 400-899 clock hours = 20¢ per hour Possession of an AA or higher degree, 90+college credits, or 900+ clock hours = 40¢ per hour A R T I C L E X I V ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF Section 14.1. Each employee subject to this Agreement, who, on the effective date of this Agreement, is a member of the Association in good standing, shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their membership in the Association in good standing during the period of this Agreement. Section 14.2. All employees in classifications subject to this Agreement who are not members of the Association on the effective date of this Agreement and all employees in classifications subjection to this Agreement who are hired at a time subsequent to the effective date of this Agreement, shall, as a condition of employment, become members in good standing of the Association within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this Agreement or within thirty (30) days of the hire date, whichever is applicable. Such employee shall then maintain membership in the Association in accordance with the previous section. Section 14.3. The parties recognize that an employee should have the option of declining to participate as a member in the Association, yet contribute financially to the activities of the Association in representing such employee as a member of the collective bargaining unit. Therefore, as an alternative to the membership requirements in Sections 14.1 and 14.2, an employee who declines membership in the Association may pay to the Association each month a service charge as a contribution towards the administration of this Agreement, in an amount equal to the regular monthly dues.
