Common use of Previous Experience Credit Clause in Contracts

Previous Experience Credit. For the purposes of initial placement of a newly-hired full-time or part-time nurse on the wage grid, such nurse shall make a claim in writing for recognition of recent related visiting nursing experience and recent related hospital nursing experience at the time of application for employment. The nurse shall co-operate with the Employer by providing verification of such previous experience in writing from previous employers during the probationary period. No such review shall be given for the experience of less than six months duration, nor where the nurse has not been actively nursing within the immediately preceding last three years. The Employer shall assess the applicability of the previous experience during the nurse's probationary period and, where such experience is acceptable, shall place the nurse at the appropriate level on the wage grid to be effective at the date of hire. Such placement shall be on the basis of one increment for each year of related nursing experience or hospital experience.
