Principal characteristics. The vessel shall be a monohull diesel-powered twin screw survey vessel designed for year round surveying operations. The vessel’s principal characteristics shall be as follows: • Length (bow to transom) 48 to 52 feet (longer within this range is better) • Beam (fender to fender) 15 to 17 feet (wider within this range is better) • Maximum Design Draft 4.5 feet maximum (less draft is better) The vessel shall have a minimum cruise speed of 25-30 knots (faster is better) at 85% engine rated power and the full load condition, defined in contract Clause C150. The minimum speed at the full load condition identified by the proposer shall be a contractual requirement. The vessel’s freeboard shall be suitable for open ocean operation. The vessel shall have a flat single-level main deck. The Contractor shall develop and submit a hull lines plan as 846-C105-01 HULL LINES to the COR during Phase I of the contract.
