Common use of Prior Service Placement Clause in Contracts

Prior Service Placement. An employee whose position is eliminated due to a reduction in force or excessing may request placement in a position previously occupied if service in that position was five (5) or more years. Such placement shall be based on seniority and a less senior employee who is displaced will be deemed to have been excessed pursuant to the provisions of Article 17, Section 5 (a).
