Common use of Probationary Members Clause in Contracts

Probationary Members. Permit Employees shall be subject to a mandatory probationary period of ninety [90] calendar days. This period may be extended by the Employer where it is deemed by the Employer that additional time is required to assess an employee's competency or fit with his role. The Union agrees that such extension will not be unreasonably withheld. Permit Employees rehired within twenty-four (24) months will not be required to serve an additional probationary period.
