Professions. Full-time professional athletes, as disclosed on the life application, are excluded from automatic reinsurance under this Agreement but may be submitted for facultative consideration. Full-time professional athletes are individuals playing on any of the following: Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Hockey League or National Basketball Association.

ProfessionsThis Agreement provides a framework to facilitate the Placement of Students (who are not employed by Health NZ) at any Health NZ Facility. A variety of Programmes require Students to complete a Placement in order to meet the Programme requirements, and the parties acknowledge that the Programmes which require Placements may change during the Term. Health NZ will provide Placements where reasonably possible for Programmes in which Students are studying towards the practice of: (a) Nursing, midwifery and allied health, scientific and technical professions (using those terms as defined in the HPCA, and other legislation or regulations where applicable); (b) social work (as that term is defined in the SWRA); and (c) any other profession or health and disability services practice area where agreed between the National Relationship Managers in writing from time to time.‌

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.
