Protective Vests. The City will purchase one bullet-proof vest for each bargaining unit employee, and such vests will be worn at all times while on duty. The City, upon request, will provide two cool shirts, for use with the vests. Employees requesting the cool shirts will be required to use them. Any change from this requirement will be at the direction of the Chief and the City Manager only, and shall be a matter of departmental policy. The City shall replace protective vests after being used for five years.
