Public Affairs Leave. An employee who is elected to public office shall be granted leave of absence with loss of seniority and without pay and benefits, for the term of office. Furthermore, upon written request, the Employer shall grant leave of absence of one month without loss of seniority or benefits and without pay to allow employees to be a candidate in a Federal, Provincial or Municipal election. The provisions of this article shall apply provided the employee provides sixty (60) days advance notice, where possible, to the Employer.
