Purchase of Work Clothing. (a) The Union and the Employer agree that preference will be given to B.C. suppliers when clothing or wearing apparel is purchased by the Employer. Upon depletion of existing stocks and termination of current contracts, all apparel supplied by the Employer shall be Union-made where available and shall bear a label so stating. The aims of this policy are: (1) to encourage business operations within B.C.; (2) to xxxxxx new job-creating enterprises throughout the province; and (3) to promote growth and stability in B.C. (b) For the term of this agreement, where the Employer can demonstrate to the Union that where an article of clothing or wearing apparel: (1) is manufactured in B.C.; or (2) creates new jobs in B.C. at the provincial industry-standard rate of pay, the Union will consider the provisions of Union label to have been met.
