Purpose and Applicability Regular or Retired Status Employees. The University supports the general policy of tuition remission for employees on regular or retired Status on an intra- and inter-institutional basis. This policy encourages such employees on regular or retiree status to enroll in academic courses for the improvement of skills or for personal development purposes, with tuition costs associated with such courses remitted in whole or in part. The University supports the general policy of tuition remission for the spouses and dependent children of University System of Maryland (USM) employees on regular or retired status, on an intra- and inter-institutional basis.
