Common use of Qualification for Holiday Pay Clause in Contracts

Qualification for Holiday Pay. To qualify for holiday pay, an employee must have (a) worked at least one (1) of the last seven (7) work days immediately preceding the holiday, unless on vacation or jury duty, and (b) worked his/her last full scheduled work day immediately preceding the holiday and next full scheduled work day following the holiday (whether or not either qualifying day is in the same work week as the holiday), unless the employee's failure to work either or both qualifying days is due to the employee's being on paid time off work approved in advance by the City. For an employee on paid sick leave only, approval in advance shall mean that the employee notifies his/her supervisor of that absence within at least thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled start of the employee's shift.
