Common use of Qualified Family Status Changes Clause in Contracts

Qualified Family Status Changes. The addition or deletion of dependents as a result of a qualified family status change will be provided in accordance with federal or State laws and Agency policy. Enrollment changes must be received by the Clark County Human Resources – Benefits Department with applicable documentation within thirty-one (31) calendar days (sixty (60) calendar days for newborns or children placed with the employee for adoption) of the qualifying event. Changes shall be effective the first of the month following the date of the qualifying event; except in the case of newborns and adoptions, coverage is effective on the date of the birth or placement in the home. For newly eligible dependents not enrolled within thirty-one (31) calendar days, coverage cannot be obtained until the next open enrollment with coverage effective January 1 of the following year.
