Promotions and Demotions. Whenever a vacancy occurs under the Unit "A", or Collective Agreements, a part-time member who has completed probationary period may apply for the position. If no suitable applicant is found the Board may fill the vacancy with a part-time member as the need maybe, who has not completed probationary period. If this occurs, the number of hours worked as a part- time member shall count towards the duration of the full-time probationary period on the basis that regular hours worked equals one calendar month. Lesser or greater amounts of part-time regular hours shall be pro- rated accordingly. In addition to any statutory requirements the selection shall be made on the basis of skill, ability and efficiency from among the applicants and where such factors are relatively equal, seniority shall govern. The Board shall forward to the Association notice of every appointment or promotion affecting any member covered by this Collective Agreement.
Promotions and Demotions. A. Promotions or transfers within the bargaining unit, either temporary or permanent, shall be made primarily on the basis of bargaining unit seniority and qualifications, but disciplinary records may be considered. Job vacancies will be posted for a period of seven (7) calendar days setting forth the minimum requirements for the position in a conspicuous place where the punch clocks are located. Employees interested shall apply within the seven (7) calendar day posting period.
B. The senior Employee applying for promotion who meets the requirements shall be granted a reasonable probationary period of ninety (90) days.
C. In the event the senior applicant is denied the promotion, the reasons for the denial shall be given in writing to the Employee and the Union Grievance Committee and shall be proper subject of a grievance in accordance with the established procedure.
D. During the trial period the Employee shall have the opportunity to revert to his/her former classification should he/she so desire. If the Employee is unsatisfactory in the new position, notice and reasons shall be presented to the Union in writing by the Employer with a copy to the Employee. The matter may then become a proper subject for Step 2 of the grievance procedure.
E. During the probationary period Employees will receive the rate of pay for the job they are performing, per Schedule of Wages, Article 39.
F. Any Employee required to work in a higher classification for a period of eight (8) hours or more on a five (5) day work week schedule, or for a period of ten (10) hours or more on a four (4) day work week schedule, consistent with Article (42) C., shall be paid the rate of pay for the higher classification for the time he/she works said job.
G. Probationary employees may not bid on promotions or lateral transfers prior to the conclusion of the probationary period.
Promotions and Demotions. All promotions or demotions must be cleared and approved by the Division of Non- Instructional Staffing.
Promotions and Demotions. 11.5.1 An employee who is promoted shall be placed at the lowest step of the range applicable to the promotional position which results in a base increase.
11.5.2 An employee who is voluntarily or involuntarily demoted, or who is reassigned under the provisions of Article 16 - Layoff and Recall shall be placed at the highest step in the new range which does not exceed his/her former salary.

(a) Any nurse who is promoted to a higher paid classification shall receive the salary that is applicable for the new classification at the same increment level as his/her salary in the classification from which he/she was promoted and the date of such promotion shall become the service anniversary date.
(b) Any nurse who is demoted to a lower paid classification shall receive the salary that is applicable for the new classification at the same increment level as his/her salary in the classification from which he/she was demoted and the date of such demotion shall become the service anniversary date.
Promotions and Demotions. 1. It shall be the general policy of the school district to consider internal applicants for promotional vacancies before advertising and accepting applications from candidates who are outside the district. No internal applicant will be promoted unless he or she can demonstrate the ability to perform the required work of the vacant position.
2. Subject to the Board’s right to fill a vacancy on a temporary basis under paragraph F below, when a promotional vacancy occurs or a new position is created, notice will be posted for five (5) working days. Copies of the notice will be sent to each head custodian, each building principal for posting in the school, and the Union Chairperson. The posting will describe the position and advise that written applications will be accepted from employees within the bargaining unit. The notice will specify the final date and hour for the receipt of the applications. After the closing date, the Personnel Office will provide the Manager of Environmental Services, principal or supervisor, and Union Chairperson with a list of all internal applicants who apply for promotional vacancies.
3. The Manager of Environmental Services will conduct the initial screening and submit a list of qualified applicants to the principal or supervisor for consideration. The Personnel Office will prepare a summary of each candidate’s employment history in the school district that includes information on evaluation and absences which shall exclude FMLA qualifying or other legally protected absences. If an internal applicant is not selected as a qualified candidate to be interviewed, he or she may request a meeting with the manager of Environmental Services to review the reasons for not being included on the list. All qualified applicants for positions shall be interviewed by the principal or supervisor with the Union Chairperson or designee present. The Manager of Environmental Services and the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Human Services may be included in the interview. No teacher shall be included in the interview.
4. It is agreed that the Board, in exercising its judgment, will give consideration to the employee’s entire service record with the school district. The term “entire service record” as herein used shall include the following: • Length of service • Ability to perform the work assigned • All formal evaluations conducted on the employee while working in the school district.
Promotions and Demotions. X. Xxxxxx on Promotion: Employees covered by this Agreement who move to a higher classification shall be placed on the appropriate step which will result in a salary equal to or greater than the salary that would have been paid on the previous classification plus one step.
Promotions and Demotions. The Parties agree that during the term of this agreement, Party A shall have the absolute discretion to promote and/or demote Party B based on Party B’s job performance. The Parties further agree that in the event Party B does not accept Party A’s determination to demote Party B, Party B shall have the right to terminate this agreement, in which event Party A shall pay Party B compensation until the agreement termination date.
Promotions and Demotions. Whenever an employee is promoted to a higher paying position, such employee shall move to the step in the new range which will provide a wage increase. Whenever an employee is demoted to a lower paying position, such employee shall go to the step in the new range which provides the same wage or least amount of wage reduction.
