Recognition for Experience (New Hires). All nurses hired during the term of this Agreement shall be given full credit for applicable nursing experience when placed on the wage scale. Applicable nursing experience shall be defined as applicable clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse (including per diem experience) based on the criteria provided for in Section 10.2.1 below, and without a break in nursing experience which would reduce the level of nursing skills in the opinion of the Hospital. The above commitment assumes full-time employment. Prior experience gained while working on a part-time basis will result in a pro rata adjustment to the starting pay rate. In the event an RN new hire has previous LPN experience, s/he shall receive credit based on the above definition on the basis of two (2) years of LPN experience to equal one (1) year of RN experience.

  • Credit for Experience A. Newly employed teachers will receive the equivalent year's credit for each year of experience. The experience granted will be equal to the FTE experience for each year worked. This credit will be granted if, in the judgment of the Superintendent, the teaching experience has been appropriate to the position which has been offered. For example, teaching experience at the secondary level may not be appropriate if the applicant is being considered for an elementary position. Placement on the salary schedule beginning with the 2017-18 contract year will be accomplished in the following manner:
