Religious Holiday. A. An employee will be granted annual leave or leave without pay for a workday, which occurs on a religious holiday. B. An employee whose personal religion requires abstention from work during certain periods of time may elect to engage in compensatory time and/or credit hours if appropriate, for time lost for meeting those religious requirements. C. To the extent that such modifications in work schedules do not interfere with the efficient accomplishment of the agency’s mission, the Employer shall, in each instance, afford the employee the opportunity to work compensatory overtime and shall, in each instance, grant compensatory time off to an employee requesting such time off for religious observances when the employee’s religious personal beliefs require that the employee abstain from work during certain periods of the workday or workweek. D. For the purpose stated in paragraph (B) above, the employee may work such compensatory overtime before or after the granting of compensatory time off. A granting of advanced compensatory should be repaid by the appropriate amount of compensatory overtime work within a reasonable period of time, generally within two pay periods. Compensatory overtime shall be credited to an employee on an hourly basis, until the payroll system can accommodate charges of less than 1 hour. As soon as the Employer’s payroll system is able to track leave in increments of less than 1 hour, employees will be able to use compensatory time in 15 minute increments. Appropriate records will be kept of compensatory overtime earned and used.

B. An employee whose personal religion requires religious beliefs require the abstention from work during certain periods of time may elect to engage in compensatory time and/or credit hours if appropriate, overtime for time lost for meeting those religious requirements.
C. To the extent that such modifications in work schedules do not interfere with the efficient accomplishment of the agency’s Department's mission, the Employer shall, shall in each instance, instance afford the employee the opportunity to work compensatory overtime and shall, shall in each instance, instance grant compensatory time off to an employee requesting such time off for religious observances when the employee’s 's personal religious personal beliefs require that the employee abstain from work during certain periods of the workday or workweek.
D. For the purpose stated in paragraph (B) aboveC of this section, the employee may work such compensatory overtime before or after the granting grant of compensatory time off. A granting grant of advanced compensatory time off should be repaid by the appropriate amount of compensatory overtime work within a reasonable period of time, generally within two twenty- six (26) pay periods. Overtime worked during this period will be counted against the compensatory time off until it has been made up before the employee can be paid for the overtime or accumulate more compensatory time. Compensatory overtime shall be credited to an employee on an hourly hour-to-hour basis, until the payroll system can accommodate charges of less than 1 hour. As soon as the Employer’s payroll system is able to track leave in increments of less than 1 hour, employees will be able to use compensatory time in 15 minute increments. Appropriate records will be kept of compensatory overtime earned worked and used.
