Paid Leave Days. The Board shall provide a pool of paid leave days not to exceed one hundred (100) days for every fiscal year thereafter for the purpose of conducting certain union business. The following criteria shall govern the use of said leave days:
1. The BTU-TSP president or his/her designee shall notify the Board’s Director of Employee & Labor Relations or his/her designee no later than five (5) working days in advance of the requested leave day. The purpose and nature of the leave shall also be provided at that time.
2. If the supervisor of the employee who is requesting the leave decides to hire a substitute/temporary employee, the BTU-TSP shall reimburse the Board for the actual cost of the substitute in a timely manner.
3. No bargaining unit member may use more than five (5) consecutive workdays of leave in a fiscal year. No bargaining unit member may use more than fifteen (15) days from the pool in a school year. However, by mutual agreement, this limitation may be extended by the parties.
Paid Leave Days. All approved leaves, paid or unpaid, will run concurrently with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) where applicable.
Paid Leave Days. A. Every September 1, all less-than-twelve-month employees will be credited with the following leave days:
1. Buildings & grounds, office management and technology employees working less than twelve
Paid Leave Days a. The Board agrees to grant paid leave days for the purpose of illness of the teacher or an immediate family member, bereavement, religious holiday, and personal business each year.
Paid Leave Days. Each full-time teacher employed under the regular contract shall be entitled to be absent from work on account of a teacher’s personal illness and medical needs, or the illness or medical needs of a teacher’s spouse, children, parents, spouse’s parents or any persons who reside in the teacher’s household, and for personal business that cannot be transacted outside the regular school day. Paid leave days shall be credited annually to each teacher as follows:
Paid Leave Days. A. Employees will receive eight (8) sick and two (2) personal days per year. Once an employee has at least five (5) full years of service at the beginning of the contract year, the employee will receive ten (10) sick and two (2) personal days per year. Employees working the summer months will be awarded two (2) additional paid leave days at the beginning of each contract year. For payroll purposes, a day for purposes of this Article, shall refer to the number of hours the employee is regularly scheduled to work. Leave days may be utilized for the following purposes:
1. Illness or disability of the employee.
2. Medical or dental appointments of the employee, provided the employee cannot schedule the appointment outside of work hours.
3. Two (2) days may be utilized as personal days, subject to the following restrictions:
a. Such days will not be approved on the workday immediately preceeding or immediately following a holiday or vacation period or for the first or last day of work calendar. Bargaining unit members may not use more than three (3) personal days consecutively. Friday and Monday are considered consecutive days. The Superintendent, or his/her agent, may, at his/her discretion, make exceptions to the above should an emergency arise.
b. The employee must give at least seven (7) calendar days notice, unless the employee can demonstrate why timely notice could not be given.
c. The Superintendent or his/her agent may, at his/her discretion, extend additional paid personal days to be deducted from the employee's available paid leave time.
d. Personal leave days shall be accumulative to a maximum of five (5) days. A bargaining unit member who has accumulated five (5) days of leave and does not use any of the days in a given year, shall have two (2) of said personal days added to his accumulated sick leave at the end of the school year in which none of the five (5) personal leave days were used. Bargaining unit members who have accumulated more than three personal leave days at the end of the school year shall have the number of days exceeding three (3) credited to their sick leave accumulation before receiving the additional personal day allotment for the next school year.
4. a. A bargaining unit member who is directed by the District to seek medical attention due to an illness or injury which is compensable under the Workers Compensation Act shall be considered to be on paid leave for that day or portion of that day and not have their leave bank charg...
Paid Leave Days. A. All full-time employees covered by this Agreement who have completed six (6) months of service with the Employer shall be credited with ten (10) paid leave days on January 1 of each year.
B. New full-time employees shall not be eligible for paid personal leave benefits until they have completed six (6) months of service, an employee will be credited with .417 paid leave days for each month of his/her employment prior to January 1 of the following year. Employees, however, whose first six (6) months of service overlaps January 1 will be credited with six (6) paid leave days upon completion of six (6) months of service. The provisions of subsection (f) shall not apply to an employee who has not completed six (6) months of service by January 1.
C. Paid leave days shall be granted for personal reasons or when an employee is unable to perform his/her duties because of injury or illness. However, if such leave is to be used for other than illness or injury, the employee must request such leave at least twenty- four (24) hours in advance of the date requested.
D. When paid leave days are used for sickness due to an illness or injury of more than three (3) consecutive work days, the Employer may require a medical statement when abuse of this provision is suspected.
E. Paid leave days shall be charged against the employee's paid leave day account in the amount taken.
F. At the end of each year, an employee shall be reimbursed for any earned but unused paid leave days at his/her rate of pay as of December 31st, with a maximum payout of five (5) days at the rate of one hundred percent (100%). Payment shall be made in the first full pay period in January. An employee must be actively employed by the Employer on December 31st to be eligible for a cash-out of unused paid leave days. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to an employee who has been on any type of unpaid leave for the entire previous year.
Paid Leave Days. A. All full-time employees covered by this Agreement who have completed ninety (90) calendar days of service with the Employer shall be credited with ten (10) paid leave days on January 1 of each year.
B. Employees hired during the year will be credited pro-rata with paid leave days for each full payroll period to be worked prior to January 1 of the following year. However, newly hired employees shall not be eligible to use paid personal leave benefits until they have completed ninety (90) calendar days of service.
Paid Leave Days. A. 1. Employees will accrue one (1) sick leave day for each twenty (20) days worked. An employee must physically work at least seventy-five (75) percent of the work days (excluding authorized paid vacation days) in a month to receive a sick leave day credit for the month. Unused sick leave days may accumulate to a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) days with the condition that the LTD would be changed to start after 120 days. Accumulated sick leave days may be utilized for the following reasons:
Paid Leave Days. A At the beginning of each school year the Board shall credit to each teacher, thirteen (13) paid leave days to be used for illness, injury, bereavement and personal business. Severance of the employee prior to having earned all of the days granted at the beginning of the school year shall result in an adjustment of days accumulated on a prorated basis. No adjustment will be made for employees who exhaust all accumulated leave days and are subsequently forced to take a medical leave of absence. The unused portion of these leave days granted at the beginning of each school year shall accumulate from year to year without limitation.
