Common use of Religious Objections to Union Membership Clause in Contracts

Religious Objections to Union Membership. Objections by an employee to joining the Union that are based on bona fide religious tenets, or teachings of a church or religious body of which an employee is a member, shall be observed. Such an employee shall pay an amount equal to regular Union dues, fees and assessments, to a non-religious charity or to another charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee, the District, and the Union. The employee shall furnish written proof to the District and the Union that such payment has been made.
