Common use of Renewal of Appointment Clause in Contracts

Renewal of Appointment. (a) Consideration of renewal of a probationary appointment shall take place during the final year of the appointment (see Article 10.1.12). A formal review by the University Review Committee is mandatory for all probationary appointments unless the Department, Xxxx and the Vice-President, Academic and Research have all recommended renewal. The candidate will be informed of the Employer’s decision on renewal no later than January 1st of the final year.

Under such circumstances renewal would be automatic. The candidate will be informed of the Employer’s decision on renewal no later than January 1st of the final year.
