Common use of Request for Information Clause in Contracts

Request for Information. A Request for information (RFI) is a written request from the Contractor to Engineer requesting information regarding the existing site conditions, interpretation or clarification of the Contract Design or other applicable information that the Contractor may find necessary in the execution of their Work. The Contractor shall promptly notify the Engineer in writing of the specific information and other applicable desired and numbered sequentially Resident Engineer. Deleted. Substantial Completion of Work (date of). Substantial Completion of the Work or designated portion thereof is the date determined by County when: (a) construction is sufficiently complete, in accordance with the Contract Documents, so the County can occupy or utilize the Work or designated portion thereof for the use for which it is intended; and (b) the Contractor has satisfied all other requirements for Substantial Completion which may be set forth in the Contract Documents.
