Requesting Vacation. Employees must submit vacation requests of four (4) hours or more to their supervisor in a timely manner. In the event of the need for unscheduled vacation time off of less than four (4) hours, the employee has the option to use vacation time or sick time regardless of the nature. This option of unscheduled time off is only available if the paid time off is less than four (4) hours. Supervisors will consider requests in light of all relevant criteria, including operational concerns, seniority, scheduling issues, leave balances, timing of the request, and fairness.
